(Seattle, Wash.) – TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® founder and CEO Mary Ellen Sheets and daughter, President and COO Melanie Bergeron love to go into the community and talk about their successful moving franchise company.

At 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, they will speak to a group of business students, faculty and alumni at Seattle University’s Pigott Auditorium, on the first floor of the Pigott Building, about how they’ve been able to grow their after-school project into 158 locations across North America.

The pair also plans to talk about new available employment positions on the west coast for the ever-expanding TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®.

“We are living the American dream,’’ said Sheets. “When I started this business, my friends and family thought I was crazy. I had quit my job with the state of Michigan forgoing my retirement and threw everything I had into TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. That hard work and dedication, and a strong commitment to my customers, has really helped the company to move forward.’’

Bergeron joined the corporate headquarters after owning successful franchises in Atlanta and the Detroit-area. She gave up a lucrative career in pharmaceutical sales to help her mother and brothers – the original two men.

“I always told my mom I’d be ready to help when she needed it,’’ Bergeron said. “So when she called, I came. Now 20 years since my family started, we have developed into a booming company that strives to exceed our customer’s expectations.’’

Sheets and Bergeron are in the Seattle area to participate in the grand opening of the Woodinville office. That location has been completing moves since July and has provided moving and packing services for five episodes of the A&E show, “Move this House.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is more than just a moving company,’’ Sheets said. “When I started it, I really didn’t know much about moving but I knew about people and how they should be treated. We have remained committed to our customers since the first day. We live by The Grandma Rule and strive to treat our customers as we would like our grandmothers to be treated.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is a franchised system that includes locations across the United States and in Canada. Each franchise is independently owned and operated and offers home and business moves. Franchises also offer packing and unpacking services as well as selling boxes and packing supplies.
