(Lansing, Mich.) – Brig Sorber, president of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/INTERNATIONAL, Inc. will travel to Missouri to speak at the 32nd Annual Overland Park Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.
The event will be held April 19. It is sponsored by the Kansas City Connecting Businessmen to Christ organization. Sorber has also spoken to the CBMC in Lansing and Detroit. He was recommended to speak at this event by Mike Winter, the Mid-Michigan Director of CBMC.
“The Word of God has blessed my family, our business and me,’’ Sorber said. “I want to share the good news of Christ to those who are willing to listen. I was pleased to be asked to come to speak.’’
The breakfast is held as a way to connect Christianity and business. The organization chooses speaker who are business people or athletes who have had a significant encounter with Christ and not politicians or clergy. Winter said he recommended Sorber because of his integrity and his passion for his faith and his company.
“His story is one that I think a lot of people can identify with -- having not a whole lot and then building,’’ Winter said. “Most people think if they had more money, they’d be happy. That’s just not true. There are a lot of rich people out there who not happy. Brig really tries to prioritize God and he knows there’s more to life than money.’’
Sorber is one of the original two men for the international franchised moving company, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/ INTERNATIONAL, Inc. His main role is to choose franchisees to join the system, and help grow the company’s market territory.
He and brother Jon first started the company when they were in high school. When they left for college, their mother, Mary Ellen Sheets took it over. Now, the company is in 29 states and three countries. It is still run by the family. Mary Ellen Sheets remains active as founder and chair. Brig’s sister Melanie Bergeron is CEO. Jon Sorber is executive vice president and runs the Lansing and Grand Rapids locations.
