TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® gears up for 5th annual Career Move Month

Mar 1, 2017

When it comes to Moving People Forward®, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®(opens in a new window) takes its core purpose seriously. From movers and drivers to marketing specialists and general managers, the industry’s fastest-growing moving services franchise is dedicated to providing hardworking employees with a rewarding career path that offers plenty of room to grow — just ask the 75 percent of management staff that started out in entry-level positions. Now, as TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® enters its fifth annual Career Move Month campaign, thousands of people will have a chance to become a part of the company employing “Movers Who Care®.”

Career Move Month is an initiative dedicated to recruiting new hires to join the rapidly expanding brand. In 2016, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® had more than 1,012 new hires emerge from the celebrated month. Building off of the increase in locations and expanded territories over the past year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has announced its hopes to hire at least 1,200 people out of the projected 12,000 applicants from the Career Move Month initiative this year. The March timing is purposely designed to kick-start recruiting efforts for the busy spring and summer months when TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® sees a higher demand for its services.

"With 85 consecutive months of growth and 21 new locations having opened in the past year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is looking for driven employees to join our team as movers and drivers of today to become franchisees of tomorrow," said CEO Jeff Wesley. "With one in three franchisees having climbed the ranks, we are heavily focused on investing in developing the careers of everyone within the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® family. It is so inspiring and fulfilling to see people that started on the frontline now running multi-million dollar locations and exceeding their dreams.”

Looking to expand overall staff throughout its franchises across the country as well as the corporate office located in Lansing, Mich., TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is hiring in all departments, including movers, drivers, marketing specialists, human resources and management-level staff. Career Move Month also honors the moving franchise’s focus on providing employees with not just a job, but a lasting and meaningful career. Hiring from within is an initiative that’s championed by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, and the brand encourages upward mobility amongst all of its employees.

The company is also launching a #RampUp campaign on social media throughout the month to further bring awareness to the career potential to those already in the system and externally. During Career Move Month, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is in search of individuals willing to go above and beyond what’s expected of them – not as a benefit to the company, but as an opportunity to better themselves and ramp up their own lives.

“A big factor in our brand’s success and consistent growth is the commitment we have to all levels of our team members, giving them the tools, training and experience to succeed and move up within our brand. The more you understand about TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the more you learn about the opportunities we have for everyone,” said Jeff Wesley, CEO of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. “Our president, Randy Shacka, even started out as an intern, showcasing just one of our special stories of Moving People Forward®. We understand our people are a vital part of our brand, and we’re better able to serve our customers because of the talents they bring to the table. That’s why we’re committing an entire month to the growth of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® team and to further add to our talent pool that will help mold the franchisees of tomorrow.”

In line with the Career Move Month initiative, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has introduced a program focused on developing staff of all levels, XCELERATE. Since the program’s launch in March of 2016, thousands of staff members have been able to trade best practices, share stories of success, and celebrate move heroes across the system, all while receiving the necessary tools to shape a long lasting career with the company.

"The XCELERATE program at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® gives our employees the means to grow their careers at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®," said President Randy Shacka. "As someone who started literally in a basement office, I truly understand how hard work and commitment to the brand pays off. We want TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to be our employees’ forever company where they can build a fulfilling career, not just a summer gig."
